!Friendica Admins A short questions to the admins that use/used the Twitter addon. You most likely will remember this tweet from Twitter on March 30th:
Tweet from the official Twitter API account: "Over the next 30 days, we will deprecate current access tiers such as Standard (v1.1), Essential (v2), Elevated (v2), and Premium so we recommend that you migrate to the new tiers as soon as possible for a smooth transition."
It's now the 8th of May - and at least my Twitter connection still does work - despite the announcement that the access to the 1.1 API would be removed until end of April.

Question: Is the connection still working at your systems as well? Or is it cancelled by now?

@Tobias @Michael Vogel can we use the free API access? Would Friendica work with the V2 API or are all the endpoint different?
I applied for free access and it seems like I can add an app now.

The Link from @Michael Vogel just showed a page telling me I have to pay 100$ for API or I could sign up for free API. So I signed up for free API confirming I read all the TOS (which I didn't) and et voila I have free V2 API now.

Currently we don't support that. Once that the Twitter access is restricted for all users, I will start working at it. We can't do this in parallel since we have to change nearly everything. And also this will be a posting connector, so no timeline import anymore.

@Michael Vogel I see. No problem. I think I don't need that Twitter support anymore.

However, how do I get rid of all the Twitter contacts in Friendica, is it correct that those will disappear when I "unlink" Twitter or deactivate the Addon?

@Andy H3 unlinking did not work... some fault, I guess unlinking was not possible because there was no API access anymore, but it seems deactivation of the addon worked. At least searching for "twitter" in my contacts does not return anything and I think it did before... on the other hand I still have so many contacts.
So I am not completely sure.

Good point. That's probably why Musk decided to remove it. Twitter was in loss for the last few years so that could be one of the attempts to turn that around.
