Hi !Friendica Developers,

Before we actually complete our move away from GitHub, we may have to migrate from Gitea to Forgejo after the software control was seized by a newly-created for-profit company.

See forgejo.org/2022-12-15-hello-f…

In the arch wiki and with a quick search I did not find anything, but maybe the package will be using the forked forgejo... I hope so.

Hey Fediverse! We're not completely #newHere, but we thought it was time for an #introduction. #Forgejo is a new, fully community-controlled soft fork of the popular #Gitea self-hosted #Git forge.

Come and get involved at codeberg.org/forgejo/forgejo !

You can find the background to the decision to fork at gitea-open-letter.coding.socia…

We'll have our first release out soon, which will be a drop-in replacement for Gitea. In the meantime, if you have any questions or feedback, we'd love to hear from you!

What is the timeline for that. I probably want to start getting used to it, stood up in there so I can continue contributing afterward.

@Hank G β˜‘οΈ I believe the final move rests on @Philipp Holzer 's shoulders, but I keep having to be reminded of the status of the move.

Except for the docker images, the CI/CD workflows are ready :-)
So we can migrate whenever we're ready

I hadn't heard about Gitea. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

@Andy H3 @Hypolite Petovan @Friendica Developers I run my gitea on docker and even Codeberg's fork points to the gitea docker hub still...
